In 1999, LeafFilter™ realized a need to innovate and develop a completely new gutter protection technology that could guarantee clean and clog-free gutters. This revelation led to LeafFilter's™ industry changing patent that would lay the foundation for what we now consider Gutter Protection Perfection™.
From the very beginning, LeafFilter™ Owner and President Matt Kaulig had big dreams for this company. Matt built LeafFilter™ from the ground up after quickly realizing that LeafFilter™ was the finest gutter guard on the market.
After incorporation in 2005, LeafFilter™ was a small operation. Matt worked tirelessly to build LeafFilter™ into what it is today. Things were definitely cozy in the beginning, setting up shop in the basement of Matt’s home in Stow, Ohio.
Despite doubling revenue from 2005 to 2006, LeafFilter™ was still a tiny operation, as all early success was accomplished while working out of one office in Akron with less than five employees. Throughout 2007, LeafFilter™ continued to grow in the Akron market, as positive reviews confirmed LeafFilter’s reputation as the best gutter protection product on the market.
In October of 2007, Bottom Line Secrets magazine named LeafFilter™ the No.1 recommended ‘Gutter Shield’ system on the market in its October issue. LeafFilter™ was also recognized as the only gutter protection product named to the Top 100 Building Products List by Building Products Magazine. These positive reviews and publicity allowed for continued progress at LeafFilter™, as positive press reinforced the fact that LeafFilter™ is Gutter Protection Perfection™.
Expansion beyond the Akron, Ohio market began in 2008 with three offices opening in Columbus, Pittsburgh and Toledo. Over the next four years, LeafFilter™ added 13 total locations and experienced remarkable growth in a relatively short period of time.
Much of the continued success of LeafFilter™ can be attributed to the point when marketing and distribution rights for LeafFilter™ in the United States and Canada were acquired in December 2009. This business move allowed LeafFilter™ to supply the product to 56 independent LeafFilter™ dealers throughout North America.
The very next year, in September of 2010, Consumer Reports Magazine rated LeafFilter™ as the No. 1 professionally installed gutter protection system available on the market. This positive review by the leading consumer review publication only helped LeafFilter’s reputation grow and is one of the company’s biggest selling points to date.
More and more accolades continued to pour in during 2012. In July of 2012, the company was selected to appear on the 2012 Qualified Remodeler Magazine Top 500 list. LeafFilter™ ranked 27th on the list and was the highest-ranked gutter protection company on the Top 500 list, as well as the youngest company within the Top 30.
The very next month, in August of 2012, LeafFilter™ was named to the prestigious Inc. Magazine annual Inc. 500|5000 list, an elite ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. LeafFilter™ was the top-ranked gutter protection company in the nation and finished in the top 16 percent at No. 840. LeafFilter™ also ranked No. 29 within the construction category of the entire Inc. 500|5000 list and No. 2 among construction companies based in Ohio.
Then in September of 2012, LeafFilter™ was designated a Weatherhead 100 winner. As one of the 100 fastest-growing companies in Ohio, LeafFilter™ was honored amongst peers and other professionals at the Weatherhead 100 Awards ceremony in December. LeafFilter™ was also selected as a winner of Inc. Magazine’s inaugural Inc. Hire Power Awards, recognizing private companies that are leading the way in creating American jobs.
Since 2005, LeafFilter™ has expanded operations from one office in Akron to 19 locations spanning the East Coast, Midwest, Southern states and now the Pacific Northwest.
