See What Boise Homeowners Say about Gutter Installation & Replacement

We’ve seen firsthand how Boise’s cottonwood trees and high desert winds create the perfect storm for clogged gutters—especially in older North End homes where shallow-pitch roofs trap debris. Our locally trained installation professionals have helped hundreds of neighbors across the Treasure Valley with clog-free gutters backed by a lifetime transferable warranty. Learn more about LeafFilter.

“We had the Leaf Filter system installed on our gutters just prior to replacing our roof. A local handyman, who was trained by leaf filter, ( Alex Robles) is the person who installed it and he did a great job installing the system and checking the pitch of the gutters as well as straightening a few dents out of the gutters. I used to have to climb up a ladder and clean out the gutters by hand, but now with leaf filter installed I shouldn’t have to do that again. The installation took only half a day for our 1700 sq. ft. one story home. The leaf filter system fits on top of the gutter but is still hidden by the gutter. It has rained a couple of times since we had it installed and the water has flowed smoothly through the gutters and down the down spouts. More importantly we do not see a pile of pine needles accumulating on the gutters and blocking the downspouts.”

“Thank you for responding to our request for installation of Leaf Filter Gutter Protection. I called on Wed. 7th of July and talked to “Adam”. “Tim” the sales person was here at 11 am the next day and on time. He did a fantastic job explaining how your product works. Was able to schedule an appointment for the next day (Friday the 9th). The crew of 4 with “Cody” directing the job were on time (9am) and had the total installation done in a hour. They cleaned everything up as mentioned in the contract. The manager of the training department was here to inspect the work before the crew left. We are very pleased with the total experience and will certainly recommend your company any time we can. Thanks again.”

Boise’s Climate Challenges

Year-Round Gutter Protection

Spring & Summer

We’ve worked on gutters across the Bench and North End long enough to recognize the pattern: late May through June, cottonwood seeds blanket everything, then those quick afternoon storms drop half an inch in twenty minutes. When downspouts get restricted, water overflows and soaks right into your foundation—especially problematic given our clay-heavy soil. Regular inspections during this window help catch blockages before they cause damage.

Fall & Winter

Our fall inspections across Boise typically reveal the same issue: decomposed leaves from locust and maple trees combine with Treasure Valley dust to form a dense, cement-like layer in gutters. Throughout winter, that trapped organic material holds moisture against fascia boards and sheathing. We’ve seen countless homes where this slow, persistent dampness led to wood rot that could’ve been avoided with proper seasonal maintenance and drainage solutions.

Did You Know?

Just a small rainstorm can divert hundreds of gallons of water to your foundation if your gutters are clogged. Boise has an average annual precipitation of 12.2 inches. Even with this moderate rainfall level, clogged gutters can lead to significant water damage around your home’s foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your gutters are sagging, leaking, or pulling away from your home, it’s a clear sign you need new gutters. In Boise, freeze-thaw cycles and debris from cottonwood trees can accelerate damage. Rust, cracks, or visible separation at the seams also indicate replacement is needed.

Aluminum is a popular choice for new gutter installations in Boise because it’s lightweight, rust-resistant, and durable. It handles our seasonal weather changes well—from hot, dry summers to cold winters—while remaining budget-friendly. Copper is another quality option for those seeking a premium look with exceptional longevity, often lasting 50+ years in Boise’s semi-arid climate.

Professional gutter installation timelines in Boise vary based on your home’s size, roof complexity, and the scope of work needed. Smaller homes with straightforward rooflines typically require less time, while larger properties or projects involving repairs may take longer to ensure quality installation.

We use Sherwin Williams’ Plastilure system to match your existing gutter color or select a new shade that complements your Boise home’s exterior. Our gutters are customized for your home to ensure a seamless look.

The size of gutters depends on your home’s roof area and local rainfall patterns. In Boise, most homes do well with 5-inch gutters. However, you might need 6-inch gutters if you have a larger roof area or if your home experiences heavier runoff during spring snowmelt and occasional heavy rainstorms.

Yes, new gutters require regular maintenance to help prevent clogs from leaves and debris. However, adding gutter protection like LeafFilter can help minimize ongoing maintenance. In Boise, where seasonal debris from cottonwoods and surrounding vegetation is common, LeafFilter is engineered to protect your gutters from clogs and help reduce the need for regular cleaning.

Gutters help protect your home by directing rainwater away from your foundation, walls, and landscaping.
