See What Rochester Homeowners Say about Gutter Installation & Replacement

Rochester’s mature maples and oaks drop more leaf volume than most homeowners realize, and our freeze-thaw cycles can turn a minor clog into serious fascia damage by spring. Our locally trained installation professionals have helped hundreds of neighbors across the area protect their homes with clog-free gutters — guaranteed, backed by a lifetime transferable warranty. “The work crew consisted of two young men. I was out having breakfast with some friends when I received a phone call. The crew had arrived 1 hour ahead of schedule. I told them that it was ok to proceed with the new gutter installation & that I would be home in 20 minutes. When I arrived I was greeted by John & introduced to Ed. I was told that you will never have to pay for clogged gutters again. I was very happy to hear this because it would have cost me at least $70 – $100 to clean out our existing gutters. Since it was a new gutter overhaul cleaning out the gutters first before installation was not neccessary. Both men positioned their ladders on different sides of the house & proceeded to remove the old gutters from each side of the roof. Once this was completed screen guards were installed with spacers inserted into the new gutter body. Once completed new gutters were installed with hidden. gutter straps. Next came the new downspouts. The 2 existing ones were dumping rain water onto our front porch roof where the rain rolloff emptied into existing front gutter (which was clogged with leaves & maple tree seeds). These 2 downspouts were eliminated. 1 new downspout replaced the existing two & was positioned on the left front side of the house & positioned to dump the rain water into our front bushes. (Bushes watered every time it rains for free). We asked that they reroute remaining 2 downspouts to the rear of our house instead of the front because our front yard had large pockets of rain water running off into the front yard every time it rained. The crew put up 2 new downspouts on the left & right rear if the house without any problems. Once job was completed we were given a certificate explaining our new lifetime warranty. I then registered our warranty with the company on-line. Once completed we were all set. We waited for it to rain so we could see how our new gutter system worked. Everything worked perfectly to our satisfaction. We just want to thank the crew for a job well done. We would reccomend leafFilter Gutter Protection to anyone that wants perfection.”

Rochester’s Climate Challenges

Year-Round Gutter Protection

Spring & Summer

We’ve been installing gutters across Rochester long enough to know that June through August is when things get serious. Those afternoon thunderstorms dump massive rainfall in minutes, and if your gutters can’t move that volume fast enough, water pours straight down your foundation walls. By late summer, we’re seeing fascia boards showing early rot from all that overflow and humidity—problems that start with systems that can’t keep up.

Fall & Winter

Our crew sees the same pattern every fall in Rochester: maple and oak leaves pack tight into gutters, then November’s rain turns it all into a heavy, wet mass. That soaked debris sits there through winter, holding moisture against your fascia and soffit for months. Come spring, we’re out replacing wood that’s rotted through—damage that builds slowly but costs plenty when homeowners finally notice it.

Did You Know?

Just a small rainstorm can divert hundreds of gallons of water to your foundation if your gutters are clogged. Rochester receives an average annual precipitation of 33.3 inches. With this consistent level of rainfall throughout the year, proper gutter maintenance is essential to help protect your home’s foundation from water damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your gutters are sagging, leaking, rusting, or pulling away from your home, you might need new gutters. Rochester’s harsh winters and heavy rainfall can accelerate wear and tear. Visible damage or water pooling near your foundation indicates replacement may be necessary to help prevent foundation damage.

Aluminum is a top choice for new gutter installations in Rochester. It’s lightweight, won’t rust, and holds up well against our weather. Rochester homeowners benefit from aluminum’s durability through heavy spring rains and humid summer conditions. It typically lasts 20+ years when properly maintained and comes in various colors to match your home’s exterior.

Most professional gutter installations in Rochester are completed in one day. However, the timeline can vary depending on your home’s size, roof complexity, and the scope of the project. Larger homes or intricate rooflines may require additional time. Rochester’s weather patterns can also affect scheduling, so installations are typically planned during favorable conditions to ensure quality work.

LeafFilter uses Sherwin Williams’ Plastilure system to match your existing gutters or select a new color that complements your home’s exterior. This allows for precise color matching when installing new gutters at your Rochester property.

The size of gutters depends on your home’s roof area and local weather patterns. In Rochester, 6-inch gutters are commonly recommended because they can handle the region’s heavy rainfall without overflowing. This extra capacity is particularly helpful during Rochester’s wet spring seasons and periods of intense precipitation.

Yes, new gutters require regular maintenance including cleaning and inspection to help prevent clogs and water damage. In Rochester, homeowners typically need to clean gutters at least twice yearly—in late spring and late fall—due to the region’s seasonal debris from abundant deciduous trees and varying rainfall patterns.

Yes, gutters can be installed on steep or complex roofs. Rochester homes—from historic Victorians to modern colonials—often feature challenging roof configurations. Experienced installers assess roof pitch, fascia condition, and drainage patterns to customize gutter placement. Steep roofs and complex rooflines with multiple valleys or dormers require specialized mounting techniques to ensure secure attachment and proper water flow away from your foundation.

Gutters protect your home by directing rainwater away from your foundation, walls, and landscaping. In Rochester, where seasonal storms and heavy rainfall occur throughout the year, properly functioning gutters are essential for helping to prevent basement flooding, foundation damage, and soil erosion around your property.

LeafFilter offers a lifetime transferable warranty on gutter installations. This warranty covers both materials and workmanship, providing Rochester homeowners with long-term protection. Our locally trained professionals ensure quality installation that stands up to Rochester’s weather conditions year-round.

Yes, we handle removal and disposal of your existing gutters as part of the installation process.
